How we handle the information you share with us

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Who we are

Bethlehem Telephone Sanitarium (“we”, “us”) is an independent natural wellness and health education ministry. This website is at www.bethsanitarium.org. We are based in 2121 Division Street N, North St. Paul, MN 55109. You can reach us at info@bethsanitarium.org or on +1 (651) 493-2057.

What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose and the message you write.
  • Newsletter signup: your email address.
  • Order requests from the shop: your name, email address, optional phone number, where you would like the order shipped, the items you chose and any note you add. No payment details are collected on this website.
  • The “Ask us” assistant: if you send a booking request or message through it, we receive the details you type (such as your name, email address, optional phone number and preferred date) together with that conversation, so we can follow up. If you only browse its answers, nothing is sent to us.
  • Technical data: like almost every website, our web host records standard server logs (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested). We use a short-lived record of your IP address only to limit spam, and it is not kept beyond one hour.
  • Donations: gifts are made through PayPal, and we never see your card or bank details. PayPal shares with us your name, email address, the amount and any note you add, which we use to thank you and to send any acknowledgment you need for your tax records. PayPal’s own privacy statement is at paypal.com.
  • Visit statistics: we use Google Analytics to see how the website is used — see “Cookies and analytics” below.

Please do not include sensitive medical details, test results or other health records in the contact form. We provide health education, not medical care, and email is not a secure place for medical information.

How we use it

We use your details only to reply to your message, to send the newsletter you asked for, and to keep the website secure. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Who sees it

Messages are delivered by email to our team. Our web hosting and email providers process this data on our behalf so that the website and email work. Google processes visit statistics on our behalf, as described below. We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this website — for example which pages are read most, and whether visitors are on a phone or a computer. We look at this as totals and trends. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not use it to try to identify anyone.

To do this, Google Analytics stores two cookies in your browser, named _ga and _ga_ZQ414FBP5J, which last up to two years. It sends Google information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the type of browser and device you use, an approximate location, and whether you arrived from a search engine or another website. Google works out that approximate location from your IP address but does not store the address itself. Google’s own privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy.

If you would rather not be counted, you can install Google’s opt-out add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or block cookies for this site in your browser settings. Nothing on the website stops working if you do.

Stored in your own browser. The shop remembers your order request list, and the assistant remembers your conversation while the tab is open, so you don’t lose them when you move between pages. They are kept in your browser’s own storage (bethsan-order-request and bethsan-assistant), are not cookies, and are not sent to us unless you choose to send a request. Clearing your browser data removes them.

We do not use advertising cookies, we do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. Our fonts and images are served from our own website, not from anyone else’s.

How long we keep it

We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of our correspondence. Newsletter addresses are kept until you ask us to remove them.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Just email info@bethsanitarium.org. Depending on where you live, data protection laws may give you additional rights, and we will respect them.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date above.
